6th Year Anniversary - Building our community to the next level

"Let us celebrate."
"Now go home and have a feast. Share your food and wine with those who don't have enough. Today is holy to our Lord, so don't be sad. The joy that the Lord gives you will make you strong" (Nehemiah 8:10).

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It feels delighted and delightful to receive good news. It also feels great to share positive news! It's fascinating how Scripture often associates mountains with the proclamation of good news. A Christmas Carol says. "Go. Tell It On The Mountain That Jesus Christ is born." In the Mount of Olives Jesus commanded His disciples to be taken the Good News into the entire world (Matthew 28:19). In Mount Olivet, Jesus ascended into heaven the angels proclaimed He would return (Acts 1:6-12).
This is exactly what we're doing at the Living for Christ Prayer Community. Through 6 years, in serving our Lord, we are heralds, declaring the Good News. We are so blest. We served as a reminder of our mandate to proclaim the Good News to the whole world. We thank God for his mercy and love to us.
All we need, are your fervent prayers and intercessions, you are investing in the work of changing lives. You're a herald, helping proclaim God's Word where it's needed most. We are also grateful to announce with you. We are also grateful to proclaim with you.
ALL for the Glory, Honour, and Praise to our God.

NEHEMIAH 2:20: "So I answered them, and said to them, `The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no heritage or right or memorial in Jerusalem.

Welcome to Living for Christ Prayer Community

"A Pledge of Allegiance - Covenant of Commitment"
April 22, 2016
St. Peter's Church

It was Friday night, I was deeply engaged in a role I'd never felt before serving as a member of the Living for Christ Prayer Community. I experienced a surge in growth among the member community so I wasn't ready to take another baby step to nourish and consume regularly the pure milk of God's truth. But God definitely had other plans in me that night had no history or circles of friendship that was written. We are few but dedicated members to provide leadership, no land or buildings in which to me to make things even more exciting, we have little money being excited is not the same as being willing however to provide the finances to do the hard work and to stand together as a loving and caring body of people would not run from the many dangers toils and snares that accompany every community to grow. It soon became clear that our excitement was neither shallow nor superficial instead it paved the way to higher the bar of excellence and allows us a greater level of commitment to step into all the challenges, and confront all the obstacles the adversaries that would put hold in our way. I can testify that some of them were almost too severe to endure but we prevailed by God's grace, mercy and power.

God is not dead, HE IS ALIVE CCRC General Meeting - Let the Fire fall.

That night, we became a part of this fellowship, which would make us pretty much more than a body of Christ. We stood and read the Covenant of Commitment which was led by Sis Joy Osuna. Our Stewards, Sis. Minda S. Pilien and Sis. Norma Segui read together to reaffirm by all members. We were also commissioned to go out and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It provides an answer looking at the various stages of spiritual maturation a new series is called growing up in God's family. It cultivates and allows the seed of God's word to sink deeply into fertile soil that will truly experience what God intended to deepen our spiritual life. We became stronger and build a strong tower.
We were given the opportunity to serve on Apil 9th at the FCCCPC - 1st General Assembly (Filipino Canadian Catholic Charismatic Prayer Communities), April 15 and 16, our yearly project, the Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar, and April 23 at the CCRC General Assembly (Catholic Charismatic Renewal Council). Humility aside, we carried Jesus Christ in our heart, and give all the credit to HIM for sure we have many more years before us to represent Him as a body of believers in this outstanding local growing prayer community. "Then David said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it. Fear not, be not dismayed; for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished." (1 Chronicles 28:20). To paraphrase, the Solomon's true God, we have done valiantly and delightful for Him as He deserves all the glory, He gets all the praise and honor.

The Spirit of the Advent season comes to life in December 18, 2015 at the auditorium of St. Peter’s Church in Bathurst Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. The Living for Christ Prayer Community witnessed the stunning presentation of Story of Nativity. Because of the busyness preparing the Christmas season, the cast had limited time to rehearse but the Holy Spirit inspired them re-enact the most important occasion and symbol of God’s mercy and love to all of us.

"Praise and Worship "

The Living for Christ Prayer Community had their Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar at the St. Peter's Catholic Church from May 23 to 24, 2014. The topics were God's Love, Salvation, The New Life, Receiving God's Gift, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Growth, and Transformation in Christ. The participants re-experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. They learned how to receive the power to live together in love, peace and joy. Just like living in Eden, where everybody live together in harmony. God is abundant in giving healing power as they saw signs and wonders. This has paved a way for deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus Christ as our own Lord and Savior.

We would like to thank everybody for the support and labour you unselfishly gave for the success of Catholic Life and Spirit Seminar. Without your dedication, commitment and all-out participation, this event would not have achieved the success that it did. We would like to give our appreciation to Bro. Don Quilao, an internationally known Speaker, Fr. Tim Sullivan C.S.P., Pastor of the St. Peter Church, Sister Sharon Garlow, Chair of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Council of the Archdiocese of Toronto, Deacon Bob Rosales, dedicated spiritual adviser and Deacon of the Archdiocese of Toronto, Sisters Evelyn Abutan and Joy Osuna and Bro. Mario Osuna , gifted evangelizers of the Living For Christ Prayer Community. Finally, we would like to acknowledge the moderator, Sister Ning Serrano, whose God's given creative talent to summarize the event was successfully presented.

To the participants, God called you for this purpose. He would like you to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

The success of this event was totally dependent to the the Holy Spirit as it encouraged and empowered us to follow Jesus and honor the Father.

Our Anniversaries

"4th year Celebration "

The Living for Christ Prayer Community had their 4th year celebration at the St. Peter's Catholic Church on November 28, 2014.

Words fall short in describing the gratitude in our hearts for our Lord's faithfulness and goodness to us over these past 4 years. Through the years of trials and tribulations, God has always been faithful in guiding us and lifting us up, thus enabling us to grow and flourish. We know that founding a prayer community is not possible by human strength alone, but the strength of God out pours his amazing grace and mercy.
The Living for Christ Prayer Community had their 4th year celebration at the St. Peter's Catholic Church on November 28, 2014. The programmed were video presentation of the past events; testimonies from the youth group; amazing stories on his Transformation in Christ during the last Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar and most of all is the honoring our most loyal members and pillars of the community.
As we celebrate the 4th anniversary of our new vigor and enthusiasm, it's an occasion for us to tell and hear stories of the past and present. This has paved a way for deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus Christ as our own Lord and Savior.

"Unity and Maturity in the Body of Christ "

A Christmas Message to the Living For Christ Prayer Community by Rev. Fr. Mike McGourty, Spiritual Director

It was one of the most glorious events in our lives in serving God and Community. We are so grateful to God for His "tsunami of grace" that sustains us in bonding with our brothers and sisters. It was an opportunity to make fellowship in achieving inward holiness. To us, it was faith in action. Again, we are small community, we are increasing in numbers and God has equipped us lavishly by spiritual gifts and talents to proclaim his word to the ends of the world. For this we owe it to the divine power, as we praise and glorify to His Holy Name.

Happy 3rd year Anniversary Living for Christ Prayer Community.

Praying for Our former Spiritual Director...

On November 10th 2014, St. Peter's Church, home to the Living for Christ Prayer Community, installed its new pastor.
Fr. Timothy Francis Peter Sullivan or Fr. Tim, as we now fondly call him, was installed by none other than Bishop McGrattan during the 11:15 am mass.

Fr. Sullivan

The installation started with the reading of the Letter of Appointment by Fr. Tom Gibbons and the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity on Assuming Office. Fr. Tim was then processioned by Bishop McGrattan throughout the church. Bishop McGrattan and Fr. Tim stopped at different areas of the church representing its different ministries, and in every stop Bishop McGrattan asked Fr. Tim to confirm that he will uphold that specific ministry and then turned to the congregation to confirm their support to the new pastor.
The procession started at the ministry of baptism, on to the ministry of reconciliation, the ministry of care of the sick, to the ministry of preaching and teaching, the ministry of prayer and ended in the ministry of the eucharist at the altar while the choir along with the congregation sung the acclamation "Like a Shepherd".
After the installation, before Bishop McGrattan gave the final blessings, Fr. Tim, told the congregation that the St. Peter's Church is in the epicenter of the diocese of Toronto. He said that as such we must continue to help and support each other by E-evangalizing, P-praying and preaching God's word and I-interceding and inspiring one another as we lead the Christian way of life.
The Living for Christ Prayer Community together with the parishioners of St. Peter's Church warmly welcomed their new pastor Fr. Tim, God's chosen shepherd.
